Petsec tries again in Louisiana

PETSEC Energy has started deepening the CL&F-30-1 well in Terrebonne Parish onshore Louisiana that was drilled and temporarily plugged in September last year.

About 485m of the well will be redrilled and then deepened to a further 151m, to a total depth of 4145m to test the target sand.

The original well was unable to reach the proposed total depth of 4121m due to deteriorating hole conditions. It was subsequently abandoned and the rig released to allow further assessment.

Petsec owns a 95% working interest in CL&F-30-1, which will target reserves of 20-25 billion cubic feet of gas equivalent.
