The logging program would evaluate the anomalous zones encountered in the primary objectives Permian Al Khlata and Haimam Formation sections between 1053m and 1421m, and determine whether production testing is warranted.

Sandstone cuttings in the interval had shown increased oil and gas readings.

Subject to the results of the evaluation, Oilex will consider running casing before drilling into the underlying Huqf Formation objective.

As operator, Oman Oilex holds 25% in Block 56, while partners Videocon Industries and GAIL each have 25%, and Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum each have a 12.5% stake.

In other company news, Oilex is coring the Oligocene OS-II reservoir objective at the Cambay-23Z well below 1641m.

Following the coring operations in the Oligocene, the well would be deepened to core and evaluate the Eocene section.

As operator Oilex holds 30% in the Cambay production sharing contract, Oilex NL Holdings India has 15%, and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation has 55%.
