The announcement was made by the MD of the Pars Oil and Gas Co, Assadollah Salehiforouz.
According to Assadollah, “Eni Iran will save US$300 million by accelerating the project’s development [and,] four gas distillation units should operate this year.”
“So far, utility services for Phases four and five including two power generators, two steam boilers, water distillers and air compressors have been launched,” added Assadollah.
The overall contract, which has been valued US$3.8 billion, has a September 2004 startup target. The development of the field is divided into 25 phases. Eni is the operator of both upcoming phases and has a 60% stake in the field. The balance is shared equally by Petro Pars and NaftIran Intertrade Co.
