APEC to hold LNG conference in Perth next week

ENVIRONMENTAL, safety and export trade issues in the liquefied natural gas industry will come under the microscope next week as the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation stages its inaugural gas forum at the Perth Convention Centre.

The two day event will starting Thursday September 1.

Delegates from APEC’s 21 member economies have been invited to attend the forum which will aim to put in place measures to allow for the growth of the LNG industry in the Asia Pacific.

The APEC nations are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, The Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the US and Vietnam.

Their findings will be reported at the APEC Ministers Meeting to be held in Korea in October.
