LNG (LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS)

BP Migas to push Indonesian LNG

BP Migas, Indonesia's oil and gas policy agency, is to meet representatives of the Western Buyer consortium in November in order to come to a "common perception" on the proposal from Pertamina to supply Western with 13.5 million tonnes of LNG in 2004. Western Buyer is a grouping of LNG buyers based in Japan's western coastal districts.

BP Migas' head of marketing, Djoko Purnomo, has confirmed that should an agreement be reached between the two parties, "the supply will come from LNG production facilities either in Bontang or Tangguh."

Purnomo also confirmed that the agency was meeting with US companies Sempra and Marathon in late October in Bali to discuss the exporting of LNG to the Americas.
