Of this amount, $1.75 million in revenue was achieved in the June quarter – and most came from the Mesquite project’s production of 6.2 million cubic feet of gas per day and 85 barrels of oil condensate per day.
The Perth-based company said the Duncan-1 gas discovery well, on the Rayburn prospect in Wharton County, had established several promising gas pay zones in the Wilcox Formation.
Depending on production testing, Strike said the discovery could provide it with a second producing asset, higher revenue and two out of three exploration success rate in its Wilcox Formation deep drilling program.
But the news was not so good for Strike in Colorado.
The Peltier 11-12 well had only produced 5-10 barrels of oil per day during the quarter, a “significantly lower” result than Strike had expected.
“Investigations continued throughout the quarter to determine whether the low rates are indicative of the nature of the reservoir or are being caused by problems associated with the completion of the well,” it said.
Looking ahead, the company plans to drill at least five more wells before the end of the calendar year.
