With 100% interest in the project, testing was carried out over 10 days and initially produced a combined gas/water flow. But the water flow ceased toward the end of the test and flowed gas only. The now stabilised rateis flowing from a 567 – 576m interval on the Moolayember Formation, Sunshine Gas said.
This gas flow continued for about four hours until the well was shut-in at a tubing pressure of 24 psi.
The well has now been shut-in pending evaluation of acquired pressure and flow data. Based on this evaluation, further testing and/or completion work could result in the coming weeks, said the company.
On September 22, Sunshine announced that the Champagne Creek-3 well-head pressure had showed no sign of depletion since the pipeline-grade gas was discovered earlier this year.
Samples taken from the conventional gas zone at a depth of 570 metres in the well have shown a gas composition of about 98% methane and 2% nitrogen.
