The Pajaritos marine terminal in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, receives, liquefies, and transfers ammonia, propane, propane/butane gas, and ethylene.
The System 800xA (High Integrity) solution will provide integrated control and safety for the cryogenic terminal.
The full order includes: ABB’s System 800xA extended automation for process control; instrumentation; equipment protection and monitoring; uninterruptible power systems; and fiber-optics networking.
System 800xA engineering and operation stations will provide both central and local supervision throughout six different process areas at the site, up to and including the preparation for shipment.
The System 800xA has proven to be a popular choice for marine applications, as it combines advanced control, equipment monitoring and safety functions in a scaleable platform that extends its internationally recognised safety-integrated standards from the high-end controllers through to individual device level.
The Pajaritos site expects to take delivery of the ABB System 800xA High Integrity solution in December 2005.
ABB is currently implementing several projects for Pemex.
