AFTER logging results indicated the recently completed Smolik–1 well at Amadeus Energy's Halletsville South Project in Texas was dry, the hole was plugged and abandoned.

But six out of the eight wells drilled in the Lavaca County area have been successful, a positive rate of 75%, according to Amadeus.

Morton Estate -1 (formerly Neuhaus -1) is due to be spudded at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, re-entry work started at Pesek-1 at the project on Monday.

Amadeus’ working interest is 25% in Smoloik-1 and Pesek-1, and 50% of Morton Estate-1. The wells are operated by Trio Consulting & Management, of Wichita Falls, Texas.
