Kimberley Oil said Mr Willsteed is a mining engineer who has, since 1973, been the principal of consulting mining engineers, Terence Willsteed & Associates.
The company said his 45 year career in the mining industry has included senior line operational and engineering positions with Zinc Corporation, Mt Isa Mines Ltd and Consolidated Goldfields Ltd.
The changes at board level come as the company seeks a reassessment of its current exploration and production portfolio while looking to diversify beyond the Canning Basin by means of farm-outs and other arrangements. The company also plans to test and ultimately commercialise its oil spill remediation process.
In other company news, Kimberley said its Share Purchase Plan, which was announced last month will close on Monday 16th December (5pm western standard time). Under the plan, shareholders can subscribe for up to $5,000 worth of shares at 2.5 cents per share.
