The board of directors of Matrix Oil NL has announced the appointment of Frank Silc as an executive director in charge of operations. Frank Silc has been with Matrix since February 2001 and has managed the Langsa field development, the Asahan drilling programme and operational issues from Jakarta since that time.

The directors of Nexus Energy Limited have advised the appointment of a new management team and the restructuring of the company's board. Ian Tchacos is the new chief executive officer, effective 15 July.

Norman Mackay has been appiointed Sales Manager with Thales Geosolutions. He has been Operations Manager with Thales for the previous six years. Working with existing and new clientele, Norman’s prior history and knowledge of the offshore oil and gas industry will prove to be invaluable in his new role.

Also moving up the Thales ladder is new Operations Manager, Jon Mackay. Jon has been project manager at Thales for the last 18 months and will be responsible for the management of both operational staff and equipment including ROV’s while also being involved with project management aspects of larger work performed by Thales.
