The first contract, through service provider GrandBasin, will be done on behalf of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), and calls for Landmark to provide technology, support and consulting services in organising, archiving and managing all of the Brazilian petroleum industry's seismic and well E&P data.
"This Brazilian contract is another example of our continued growth in the E&P data management business resulting from Landmark's acquisition of PetroBank(TM)," said President and CEO of Halliburton, Mr Dave Lesar.
GrandBasin scored a second big contract win when Shell Exploration and Production Company awarded it a three-year E&P data management contract. The scope of the work includes management of more than two terabytes of Shell's seismic data using a combination of PetroBank(TM) and GrandBasin's Surf and Connect (TM) application.
According to Landmark, Shell chose to outsource their E&P data management to GrandBasin because it believes that PetroBank technology is closely aligned to their vision of leveraging technology and services to improve their data management processes.
"This data management contract is an excellent example of the great partnerships that result from global organisations like Halliburton and Shell Exploration and Production working to leverage advanced technology like online, Web-based data access," said Mr Lesar.
