Its first CSM target, the Fingal-Dalmayne area in the northeast of SEL 32/2003 contains over 120 exploration holes drilled by Mineral Resources Tasmania.
The company said it was drilling the Fingal-55 and Fingal-45 wells in two stages to take advantage of rig availability.
Stage 1 operations, which were completed earlier this quarter, involved drilling top-holes to a depth of 200m.
If Stage 2 operations, which involve drilling the core holes, show gas content and permeability, Pure intends to quickly move the area into pilot and production testing. It would leverage the existing boreholes to fast-track reserves certification.
The company aims to demonstrate both the distribution and economic viability of CSM production in the mature coal-mining Tasmanian Basin, which holds significant coal resources.
The tenement covers 11,295km and has existing commercial infrastructure, including the Tasmanian gas pipeline and Transend electricity transmission system, running through it.
