Conference director Kathryn Granheim said Yusgiantoro would follow NT Chief Minister Clare Martin and speak on the growth of oil and gas exploration and production in Indonesia and future possibilities for working with Northern Australia.
He would present and overview of Indonesian petroleum industry developments, and of interest to service companies and operators alike, look at the potential for Darwin to assist Indonesia in its growth in the oil and gas sector.
The perspective from a demand side of the US will be discussed by Joe Desmond, Californian energy adviser, with an overview of the US energy market structure and its current fuel supply status.
After assessing the demand for gas in California he would give a perspective on California’s future energy supply choices and where LNG fits into the picture.
With Woodside and BHP both proposing to build LNG receival facilities in the US, Desmond’s update on LNG receiving terminal projects and US regulations for LNG terminals will draw plenty of interested listeners.
Federal minister Ian Macfarlane will also be making a keynote address titled: Australia as a Gas Resource and New Developments with National Energy Policy.
Organiser IIR Conferences said Macfarlane will be speaking on Australia’s position in the global energy sector. Granheim said he would update the developments with Federal Energy Policy. He would also provide a perspective on Australia’s LNG export projects in a global context, especially in light of recent talks with Mexican and Californian administrations about the possibility of importing Australian LNG.
