Beetaloo Basin gets a run in the sun

A SUITE of frontier exploration permits in the Northern Territory will be showcased on Sunday at ...

The Beetaloo Basin, Northern Territory, has more than 3000 metres of sedimentary fill with thick, world-class source rocks. The richest interval has 140 metres of black shale with typical TOC values from 4 to 7%. The organic matter is oil-prone but deep burial in the centre of the Basin may have resulted in significant amounts of gas, as well.

Three major sandstone reservoirs have been documented by the limited amount of drilling. These sandstones are interbedded with the rich source rocks and have had shows in several of the stratigraphic tests that were drilled in the basin.

Exploration permits covering 28,000 sq km have recently been granted to Sweetpea Corporation Pty Ltd., opening the extraordinary opportunity for a farminee to evaluate an entire basin.

The Farmin Seminar will be held on Sunday 10 April in Meeting Room's 2 & 3 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Perth, Western Australia – the morning of the icebreaker function of the 2005 APPEA conference, held in the same venue.

Company representatives will review the technical and commercial aspects of their opportunities via short audio visual presentations. The seminar registration fees include a copy of the PESA 2005 Farmin Seminar Report CD (containing details of all proposals presented), morning coffee and an excellent lunch including drinks.

If you wish to make a presentation, you can contact Wolfgang Fischer for details or register on-line (http://www.pesansw.com) by no later than Thursday 24 March 2005. If you wish to attend but not present, please register by Thursday 7 April 2005.
