Four marginal gas zones had been identified from the wire log interpretation with the log analyses indicating the sandstones were shalely and have low net pay per zone. These zones generally correlated to Alpullu-1, but are unlikely to be in communication and thus the probability is they are limited.
The company maintains that despite the Alpullu prospect being commercially disappointing, the presence of gas is very encouraging and may indicate the potential for commercial gas accumulations in other areas within the 3599 permit, as well as at deeper levels.
Alpullu-2 well is located in the 100% operated 3599 exploration block in the Thrace basin of Western Turkey.
The structure is a faulted anticlinal closure updip of the Pancarkoy-1 well with the closest wells being Pancarkoy-1, Minnetler-1 and Karakavak-1.
Alpullu-1 tested the hydrocarbon and reservoir potential of the Danismen sands. Alpullu-2 was designed to test the continuity of the gas sands encountered in Alpullu-1.
