The company believes the Pancarkoy-1 well had strong gas shows and possibly by-passed gas pay, interpreted from limited wireline log data. The structure has a coincident seismic amplitude anomaly, suggesting the presence of gas.
Alpullu-2 is located in the 100% operated 3599 exploration block in the Thrace basin of Western Turkey and will target a faulted anticlinal closure updip of the Pancarkoy-1 well.
The closest wells are Pancarkoy-1 (750m ESE), Minnetler-1 (9.3km NW) and Karakavak-1 (10.6km SW).
Alpullu-1 tested the hydrocarbon and reservoir potential of the Danismen sands while Alpullu-2 is designed to test the continuity of the gas sands encountered in Alpullu-1.
Additionally this well will provide important information for evaluating other prospects in the area.
