As the operator, Santos said that wire-line logs from the Bilip-1 exploration well (PPL 190) indicate a 30 metre gross hydrocarbon column at 2,453m in the Iagifu sandstones.
The Bilip oil discovery is located about 10km southeast of the SE Gobe oil field. Interests in the Bilip-1 well are Santos Group 31.278% - operator, Oil Search 31.278%, Murray Petroleum Co 26.497% and Cue PNG Oil Company Pty 10.947%.
