Sidetrack coring of the Ginger-1 well has also been completed which, together with log data including pressure sampling, will provide information on reservoir quality and expected flow rates from the gas discovery.
The 3D seismic over the Ginger area is currently being reprocessed and once this is complete, and log and core data from the Ginger-1 well analysed, further appraisal work will be considered.
The gas reservoir was close to predicted thickness with no water contact indicating that the gas column likely extends downdip from the Ginger-1 location. To evaluate a downdip extension to the discovery, a future appraisal well may be required.
The Joint Venture has stepped up its aggressive drilling program spudding the Felicia-1 well yesterday with the ENSCO 56 drilling rig only hours after spudding the Gipsy-3 well with a second rig (ENSCO 53).
The well will target a small low relief four way dip closed anticline at the Flag Sandstone level. If successful in finding a commercial oil pool, a development well, Felicia-2, will be drilled from the existing Victoria Production Platform for immediate production.
The Harriet Joint Venture now has two rigs operating, the ENSCO 56 on Felicia-1 and the ENSCO 53 on Gipsy-3.
The Harriet Joint Venture participants are Tap Oil 12.2229%, Apache Energy (operator) 68.5%, Kufpec Australia 19.2771%.
