Jingemia-2 unsuitable for water injection

Located in the onshore Perth Basin Exploration Permit EP-413, wireline logging was completed at a total depth of 278m and it has been decided to sidetrack the well to a revised bottom hole location to intersect improved reservoir quality.

The well was directionally drilled to intersect the Dongara reservoir sands 1km south east of the discovery hole, and was designed to define the oil-water contact in the southern extent of the field.

If a significant column was intersected the well could have increase the estimated reserves from 5mmbbl to 9mmbbl. Even if successful it was likely that it would be used as a water injection well to supply pressure for Jingemia-1.

The drilling activity at Jingemia follows the conclusion of the Jingemia-1 Extended Production Test (EPT) where oil flow rates of between 1,000 and 1,900 barrels per day were recorded over the 3 month test period.
