EDL commissions two American landfill gas power projects

In a move which strengthens its portfolio of landfill gas power generation projects in the United...

The Carbon Limestone plant, situated in Lowellville, Ohio, has a 14.9MW capacity, and the Lorain plant, in Oberlin, Ohio, has an 8.1 MW capacity. The power from both plants will be purchased by wholesale electricity supplier, American Municipal Power (AMP) of Ohio, under a long term power purchase agreement.

The announcement is also in line with comments by EDL's chairman, Mr Richard Denton, at the company's annual general meeting in November that the United States will remain a key focus of the company's global landfill gas growth strategy. The commissioning of the Carbon Limestone and Lorain plants now brings Energy Development's total power generation capacity to 360MW.
