SA Govt. reduces NRG exposure

The South Australian Government has reduced its exposure to a troubled NRG Flinders power contrac...

SA Treasurer Kevin Foley said negotiations with US parent company NRG Energy has resulted in a $30 million injection from the overseas business into local subsidiary Flinders Osborne trading after it chalked up disastrous losses from gas and electricity purchase deals associated with the Osborne power station.

The latest injection is subject to ratification from the US company's bankers, and follows an earlier $35 million commitment.
