Energy World said that the Commonwealth Bank and it's appointed independent expert are still evaluating and discussing plans to allow the company to pay its obligations to the bank in full. The short-term financing facility was established with the Commonwealth Bank in 1997.

Energy Equity was once a market darling due its portfolio of Australian and Asian energy projects however has run into financial difficulty after the Indonesian Government delayed payments for the output from its Sengkang power station.
