Acer to wring Flax field dry

ACER Energy looks set to get the most out of the Flax oil field in the Cooper Basin by tapping a new mid-Patchawarra formation, something which has led the Flax-1 well to be placed back on production without the need for fracture stimulation.

It decided to test a 4.5m section of a 9m pay zone, with a perforation successfully performed. Acer said this was significant as the same pay zone could be present above reservoirs it had already tapped...
