Further gas flows from Edirne Well

OTTO Energy and Incremental Petroleum's Kuzey Arpaci-1 well in the Edirne gas project in the Thrace Basin, Turkey, has flowed dry gas rates of up to 2.8 million cubic feet per day from several intervals.

Otto said the well flowed dry gas rates from additional perforations between 404-468m.

The well previously flowed gas from a tested section of only 5m in the lower reservoir at rates of 1.15MMcfd.

According to Otto, two more pay zones with multiple potential gas intervals were identified in the well and will be added at a later stage.

Kuzey Arpaci-1 is the second well drilled in 2008 as part of a campaign designed to prove up significant volumes of gas and will be placed on production by mid 2009, Otto said.

Once Kuzey Arpaci-1 is completed, the rig will move to test Arpaci-1, which was drilled in January 2006 before 3D seismic was available.

After testing the well, the rig will return to the Arpaci-2 location to drill the Arpaci-2A well.

Otto Energy has 35% in the Edirne licence, Incremental holds 55% and a Turkish company, Petraco, holds the remaining 10%.
