Stuart P&A's Chester-1

STUART Petroleum's Chester-1 exploration well in PEL 113, in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin, has been plugged and abandoned after no significant shows were noted from wireline logs.

The company said the well was drilled to a total depth of 2100m and was targeting mean undiscovered oil reserves potential of 0.8 million barrels and a mean unrisked gas resource of 0.5 billion cubic feet.

The Century Rig 3 will NOW move to the second well in the 2008 Cooper-Eromanga Basin drilling program, Subzero-1.

Following Subzero-1, the rig will drill the third well in the program before moving offshore to drill the Bazzard structure in the Gippsland Basin permit Vic/P53, in September.

Stuart owns 100% of Chester-1.
