Red Fork makes Fuss in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA-focused Red Fork Energy has started drilling the first well in a two-well exploration pr...

Spudded on Monday, Fuss 1-34 is expected to reach total depth of about 3500m and will test potential conventional oil and gas pay zones, as well as the shallower coals.

Total depth is expected next week, after which Red Fork will complete a full suite of logs.

Casing will be set through all potentially productive intervals and cemented so that each zone can be isolated for testing.

Following the completion of drilling Fuss 1-34, Red Fork will drill the second well Fuss 1-33.

In other company news, Red Fork has secured another rig to complete two deeper wells - Redfork 1-18 and 1-20 at its 100%-owned Osage project.

Drilling is expected to start in the next 10 days and will target the Tyner sand zone. The Tyner sand zone has already delivered strong oil production from Redfork 1-17.

In addition, Red Fork said it would drill further 10-12 wells in the first half of 2008, including 4-6 shallow coal seam methane wells at Osage and up to six Shale wells at Eastern Oklahoma.
