The company, which holds a 40.75% stake in the well, said analysis of these shows had been complicated by lost mud circulation.

These gas-bearing zones were encountered in the secondary objective, in the interval 10,200 to 10,450 feet.

Detailed appraisal of the Hermes-1 will be undertaken following logging at a total depth of 11,300 feet.

The primary objective of the well lies in the Koerth Sand at about 11,200 feet.
