The well is Golden Gate’s second discovery at the project, which was one of two it farmed-into in September, following a successful result at the initial Folse-2 well at the Samstown prospect elsewhere in Iberville Parish.
Golden Gate said Folse-1 is currently shut-in, but would be tied-in and put onto production shortly.
“The established nearby infrastructure which needs minimum capital expenditure and short lead times to production enhance the commercial attractiveness of these shallow gas accumulations,” it said.
“Attempts to test and complete the oil zone were unsuccessful.”
Golden Gate has a 34% working interest in the Louisiana projects after payout.
