Juniors resume Margarita drilling, bring well onto sales line

THE Margarita joint venture, in which Victoria Petroleum and Sun Resources are partners, has resumed drilling after heavy flooding delayed the arrival of a rig to the Texan gas project.

The first well in the three-well program, Donna Carlota, discovered gas. It tested at 1 million cubic feet per day and is being brought onto the sales line.

Yesterday, Sun Resources said the JV was tying the second well, Agavero-1, in the current program to the sales line, after it flow-tested at a rate of 647,000 cubic feet per day on a 10/64-inch choke with no water.

Meanwhile, the JV is drilling the third and final well in the shallow-drilling program, Climaco-1, ahead at a depth of 1830 metres.

The well, spudded mid last month, will be drilled to a total depth of 2067m.
