Rain delays Waggamba drilling

MOSAIC Oil is the latest junior explorer to experience spudding delays caused by heavy rain in onshore eastern Australia.

Rain delays Waggamba drilling

The company told the Australian Stock Exchange this morning that the mobilisation of Ensign Rig 5 to its 100% owned and operated Waggamba gas condensate field in Surat-Bowen Basin permit PL 202 has been delayed due to rain and wet ground.

The company now expects the Waggamba-1H well to start drilling next Tuesday, July 25, and be completed by August 3 on a trouble-free basis.

The Waggamba-1H well will be drilled under balanced with a polymer mud system laterally for up to 300 m.

Meanwhile, Mosaic says it has entered a rig-sharing agreement with Ausam Resources and Sunshine Gas to use the Australian Drilling Services (ADS) Rig 6.

The rig is expected to become available to Mosaic mid-August to drill in PL 119/Bainbilla Block in southeast Queensland.
