Cliff Head-6 yields 71m oil column

Operator Roc Oil said total depth of 1530m had been reached with the oil-water contact being consistent with the field-wide contact.

This news was in sharp relief to outcome from the previous Cliff Head-5 well, which disappointed the partners after intersecting the top of the reservoir about 50 metres lower than predicted.

Junior partner Voyager Energy said: “Because CH-6, located in the main horst part of the field, has been drilled at an angle of approximately 40 degrees the gross reservoir interval intersect by the well is 93 metres.”

“The forward plan for CH-6 is to complete logging, run casing and suspend the well as a potential future oil producer.”

A final investment decision is planned in the next few days.

Interests are: Roc Oil 37.5%, AWE 27.5%, Wandoo Petroleum 24%, Voyager 6%, Cieco Exploration and Production (Australia) 5%.
