AFTER losing a section of drill string down hole while drilling the Yemeni Nabrajah-4 well, Oil Search said it was now preparing to sidetrack around the original well-bore at a depth of 1,147 metres.

Nabrajah appraisal twists off

An Oil Search report said, “During the week, Nabrajah-4 reached a total depth of 1,731 metres. The objective Qishn S1 and S2 Sandstones were penetrated slightly high to prognosis with oil shows recorded in both sands whilst drilling.”

“However, while preparing to log the well, the drill-string parted leaving a section of drill-pipe over the Qishn Sandstones. As recovery of the drill- pipe was not possible, a sidetrack of the original Nabrajah-4 well-bore is being conducted. The total depth of the sidetrack well is estimated to be 1,735 metres.”

The company said after completion of the Nabrajah-4 well, the rig would be moved to drill the Nabrajah-5 well. Nabrajah-5 is a deviated well with a top Qishn S2 target location approximately 1,100 metres south of Nabrajah-4.

The interests are DNO ASA 56.67%, (operator), Oil Search (Yemen) Limited 28.33%, The Yemen Company 15%, carried.
