Burun is in Turkmenistan, one of the firm’s key future production areas.

The firm said encountering “abnormally high formation pressures” upon reaching TD forced it to suspend further work on the well until the arrival of special production testing equipment.

While B060 remains idle Burren is still continuing its shallow well drilling program in the field. So farn seven wells have been drilled, providing low-cost incremental production averaging 250 bopd per well at a cost of US$250,000 per well.

It is also conducting a four-rig workover program designed to increase field production, which currently stands at 18,200 bopd gross.
