Oil Search said a test over the Upper Qishn S1 Sandstone interval between 1,670 to 1,676 metres flowed at a final rate of 1,445 barrels of oil per day (bopd), 3,058 barrels of water per day bwpd) and 203 thousand standard cubic feet per day (Mscf/d) gas.
The company said this is the first time the Block 43 joint venture has tested the Qishn S1 Sandstone over the Nabrajah field.
“Based on the encouraging results from Test 3 over the Qishn S1 Sandstone, it is now considered that the Qishn S1 Sandstone in Nabrajah-1 and 2 may also be potentially oil-bearing,” it said in a drilling report yesterday.
The Qishn S1 Sandstone interval will be evaluated in the Nabrajah-4 appraisal well.
Nabrajah-3 is the second well in an appraisal drilling program to determine the size and commercial viability of the Nabrajah discovery.
Interests in Nabrajah-3 are: DNO ASA 56.67% (operator), Oil Search (Yemen) Limited 28.33% and the Yemen Company 15% (carried).
