“A single 120m long lateral bore was drilled from the main bore, providing a total exposure to the reservoir of approximately 250m,” Arc said in a statement.

“The well was completed with 73mm (2 7/8”) completion tubing. The reservoir section was encountered substantially as prognosed with good oil and gas shows.”

The rig has now moved off location and the current operation is preparing the well for a short term production test to provide information on potential oil and gas flow rates.

Arc Energy has a 100% interest in the Dongara-31 well, located in the L2 block.
