In a statement Amadeus said, “The Diemer-21 well has reached target depth as at 18 October 2004 Texas time. Nine feet of oil was encountered in the DY-3 sand [and] the well will be sidetracked into the optimal location of the DY-1 and DY-2 sands. This will enable the well to be better positioned to recover up-dip reserves [and] the sidetracking will take between 7-10 days.”
“The Payne-44 well was spudded on 15 October 2004 Texas time and has reached a depth of 1,291 feet as at 18 October 2004 Texas time. As previously announced, the JW Wilson -24 was expected to be the second well of the drilling program, however the rig was moved to the Payne location,” it added. The Payne-44 will be drilled to a TD of 4,500 feet.
In related news, Amadeus has announced the spudding of the Clont-2 JV well in Knox County, Texas. As with Raccoon Bend, the operator on-site is TNT Engineering Inc.
In a statement Amadeus said, “The Clont -2 well, on the North Knox City Unit (NKCU), Knox County, Texas was spudded on 16 October 2004 Texas time and has progressed to a depth of 1,951 feet.”
The objective of the well is a TD of 2,350 feet.
Amadeus holds a 60.5% stake in Raccoon Bend and an 81% stake in the NKCU prospect.
