Mulberry-1 is currently producing 600 bopd.
In a press release Drillsearch revealed the primary purpose of the drilling program is to “drill, complete and connect Mulberry-2, 3 and 4, as oil producers”, provide data for future in-fill and delineation drilling and to “produce Birkhead oil” from each well.
Its secondary purpose is to explore the potential of the Wyandra, Murta and Westbourne Formations. Mulberry-2 will be drilled to a TD of 1,308 metres, Mulberry-3 to 1,309 metres and Mulberry-4 to 1,326 metres.
According to Drillsearch, “The appraisal wells are designed to achieve additional oil production and to test the extent of the oil pool in the Birkhead 11-77 sand discovered in Mulberry 1 [and] current timing for commencement of this drilling is November, 2004.”
Santos is the operator of the Tintaburra Block and Drillsearch holds a 10% stake in the JV.
