Cullin-3 intersected approximately 26m of gassy coal, including a single coal seam of approximately 11m, in the Cullin coal seam gas field, with preliminary field analysis of the coal gas indicating that it is comprised largely of methane.
Further gas content work will now be carried out on the cores taken and testing is planned in the near future.
Cullin-2, which spudded on Thursday, is the fifth well in the six well program and cored 6.5m of gassy coal at a depth of 379m.
All the wells in the program, Luton-2, Cullin-2, Cullin-3 & Tilbrook-1 are Coal Seam Gas (CSG) wells designed to commence proving up Sunshine’s vast northern Bowen Basin holdings as potential producing properties.
