Woodside said the SEDCO 703 drill rig was drilling the well approximately 300 kilometres south west of Darwin in 65 metres water depth. Planned total depth is approximately 3,400 metres.

It is understood the exploration program being undertaken at WA-313-P is to prove up more reserves around the Blacktip gasfield development area.

Woodside Energy is the operator of the JV and holds a 50% stake. The balance is held by Eni Australia B.V.
