Three zones have now been fracture stimulated in the well between 2203 and 2368m, with zone one flowing nitrogen and fraccing fluids initially and then with gas to surface, although the gas flow rate could not be determined because it was not stabilised and contained fraccing fluid.
The two higher zones (zones 2 & 3) were fractured late Thursday and Friday. All three zones were then allowed to flow to surface, although to date the flow has been mainly water with the occasional “slugs” of gas coming to the surface.
Lakes reported that zone 3 appeared to have been fracced into a water zone, meaning efforts will now concentrate on shutting off the water to allow testing of the lower zones.
The company is also preparing for production testing on the Wombat-1 and 2 wells following the arrival of separator and wire-line equipment on site. Wombat-3 is expected to commence drilling in about 2-3 weeks time.
