Woodside and BHP Billiton have continued their exploration of the WA-255-P permit, with the Knott-1 exploration well in the Exmouth Sub-basin.

JV spuds Stybarrow follow-up well

The Atwood Eagle semi-submersible drilling rig is drilling the well five kilometres east of Skiddaw-1 and eight kilometres east of Stybarrow-1 in 685m of water.

Knott-1 follows the three successful Stybarrow wells also in WA-255-P which intersected oil columns of between 11 and 23 metres.

The Stybarrow field is close enough to the planned Enfield development by Woodside to be considered for a tied-in development.

Equal joint venture participants in WA-255-P are BHP Billiton Petroleum (Australia) and Woodside Energy.
