DRILLING

ROC Oil and partners are at 2700 metres in the the Bravo-1 well and progressing toward the total depth of 3,200m in the hole in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.

ROC close to Bravo target

The potential reservoir target is expected to be intercepted below 3,000m. Bravo-1 is located in 1,509 metres of water, 180km southeast of the capital of Malabo.

The well is being drilled by the Sedco Energy a fifth generation, dynamically positioned drilling vessel with ROC managing the operation. It is expected to be about another week before the rig is released following evaluation of the wireline logs after total depth has been reached.

Regardless of the drilling results, the JV does not intend to test the well because of commercial and logistical considerations. No information relating to the presence or absence of hydrocarbon shows will be released until an evaluation of the wireline logs has been undertaken as oil shows in wildcat wells without supporting log data are generally not of any commercial relevance.

Subsequent to the previously announced Pioneer farmin, the Block H JV will consist of The Atlas Group (Operator) 45%, Pioneer 20%, Sasol Petroleum International 20% and ROC (Technical Manager) 15%.
