Oil Search spuds second Middle East well

Oil Search has continued its moved into the Middle East by spudding its second well in the Republic of Yemen, Nabrajah-1, in Block 43.

The Nabrajah-1 well is located in the central sector of Block 43 and will test the hydrocarbon potential of the Qishn Sandstone and deeper reservoir objectives including the Basement. The planned total depth of the Nabrajah-1 well is 2,237 metres (measured depth).

Nabrajah-1 well is the second of two farm-in wells that Oil Search is participating in to earn a 25% working interest (29.42% paying interest) in Block 43 following the Meshat-1 well which was plugged and abandoned last week.

The participants in this well are DNO ASA 50%, operator, Oil Search (Yemen) Limited 25%, First Calgary Petroleums Limited 10% and The Yemen Company 15%.
