Cayirdere-3 a positive note for Amity

So far 2004 has started on the same positive note with the Cayirdere-3 well flowing gas at around 7.7 million cubic feet per day, providing a positive result from a productive development well. The well has now been suspended for tie-in to production.

Cayirdere-3 well is the second well on the Cayirdere field and the first development well, with Cayirdere-2 to be drilled immediately after the completion of Cayirdere-3, which is located about 33 kilometres southeast of the Gocerler gasfield.

The well is also close to existing producing gasfields, pipelines and large industrial gas consumers.

Cayirdere-3 has been drilled in Petroleum Exploration Licence AR/AOI/3338, which forms part of “Area B” of the Thrace Joint Venture and is located approximately 120 kilometres west of Istanbul in Turkey’s onshore Thrace Basin.

The Cayirdere structure is a shallow anticlinal with strong amplitudes on the 3D seismic data. The closest wells to Cayirdere-3 is Cayirdere-1 which was put on early production this month.

Participants in the field are Amity International 50% and Türkiye Petrolleri A.O. 50%.
