The well, operated by the Truong Son Joint Operating Co, has managed to record a flow rate of around 7,300 bbls/d of 38 degrees API oil. However, testing was limited due to the constraints of the equipment at hand and potential reserves are currently being evaluated.
The area has already yielded rich pickings with the oil rich Block PM-3 of the Malaysia-Vietnam Commercial Arrangement Area (PM-3 CAA) just next door and the PM-3 CAA Bunga Kekwa C wellhead platform only 13 km to the north east.
Truong Son is made up of PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Co (40%), Talisman Vietnam 46/02 (30%) and Petronas Carigali Overseas Sdn Bhd (30%).
