DRILLING

Jingemia oil shows

Perth Basin exploration looks to have received more positive news with oil shows being uncovered in the first drill stem test of the Jingemia-1 well over the weekend. Operator Origin Energy is about to commence the second drill stem test.

Good oil shows were recorded over the 5 metres of reservoir drilled before drilling was deliberately stopped to undertake an on bottom, open hole drill stem test. Drill Stem Test 1, attempted over the interval 2407.3 metres to 2419 metres, was misrun due to plugging of the test tool.

Following DST2, drilling will continue to evaluate the complete Dongara and Wagina Sandstone section. Once this has occurred, a decision will be made whether to run wireline logs and case off the Dongara Sandstone prior to drilling ahead to the secondary High Cliff Sandstone target in 6 inch hole.

Jingemia-1 is located in EP 413 onshore in the northern Perth Basin, approximately 5 kilometres southwest of the Hovea oil and gas field and 24 kilometres south of Dongara.
