Houston-based Parker Drilling Company has appointed James Whalen as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr Whalen replaces James Davis, who resigned last month.
The global energy giant, which specialises offshore drilling and workover services, said Mr Whalen has 34 years experience in corporate finance, with more than 20 years as a financial officer in the energy industry.
"Jim's record in corporate finance has been impeccable, and we are fortunate to have him as our chief financial officer," said president and chief executive officer of Parker Drilling, Robert Parker.
