Subject to confirmation by wireline logging Kenmore North-2 will be cased and completed as a Hutton Sandstone oil producer.
Currently results indicate incremental reserves for Kenmore North-2 are consistent with pre-drill expectations and in the range of 0.4 to 1.3 million barrels of recoverable oil.
Kenmore North-2 is an exploration well located about 19km from the township of Eromanga in southwest Queensland. Its location, based on the interpretation of the recent 3D seismic survey, is designed to test the crest of the Kenmore North structure, which is about 2 km to the north of the main Kenmore Field.
Earlier this month the company vindicated its move to 100% ownership of the Kenmore oilfields in Queensland, as its Kenmore-28 well yielded an 8.5m net oil column.
Wireline logs indicate that the well has penetrated 8.5m of net oil pay within a 9m gross oil column at the top of the Hutton Sandstone. The well will now be completed for oil production from the Hutton, with production expected to commence before the end of October.
A typical Kenmore well may flow between 500-1000 bopd but may halve in rate anywhere from three to six months.
