The well intersected the Dongara Sandstone objective 30m higher than Jingemia-2 and 31m lower than Jingemia-1, encountering the oil water contact in the top of the sand, at the same level as in Jingemia-1.
Data indicates that reservoir quality is suitable for water injection to maintain reservoir pressure and that the reservoir is in pressure communication with the Jingemia-1 oil producer.
The Jingemia-3 appraisal well was drilled from the Jingemia-1 production facility in EP 413, in the North Perth Basin, at moderate angle to target the Dongara Sandstone oil reservoir about 400m north west of the Jingemia-2 well.
A second Extended Production Test (EPT) is now anticipated to begin in October. This follows the first EPT where oil flow rates of between 1,000 and 1,900 barrels per day were recorded over a 3 month test period. During that EPT, the Jingemia-1 well produced in excess of 125,000 barrels of oil, with no water.
Participants in EP 413 and the Jingemia-3 well are Origin Energy Limited (operator) 49.189%; AWE 15.245%; Hardman Oil & Gas 22.376%; Voyager Energy 6.270%; Victoria Petroleum 5%; Norwest Energy 1.278%; Roc Oil (WA) 0.250%; ARC Energy 0.250% and John Kevin Geary 0.142%.
